Town of Leesburg Seeks Citizen Input on Proposed
Amendments to the Town Plan
Leesburg, VA (December 5, 2011) – The Leesburg Planning Commission will hold a public
hearing on Thursday, December 15, 2011, at 7:00 p.m., in the Town Council Chambers (25
West Market Street) to consider a comprehensive update of the Town Plan, the comprehensive
planning document for the Town of Leesburg, Virginia. The Town Plan serves as a general guide
for decisions about future land development and facility development. It contains goals for
long range development as well as objectives for implementing those goals and objectives.
The Planning Commission has conducted a review of the Town Plan to assess which portions of
the Town Plan should be updated to reflect current conditions and general changes in policy
direction. Draft changes have been made to the text, policies, and maps. The proposed
changes are available for review at the offices of Leesburg Department of Planning and Zoning,
located on the 2nd floor of the Leesburg Town Hall (25 West Market Street) in downtown
Leesburg. The proposed changes are also available for download from the Town website at
http://www.leesburgva.gov/index.aspx?page=1212.
The Town encourages all interested parties to speak at the Planning Commission Public Hearing
and/or to submit comments to the staff project manager, Irish Grandfield, by e-mail at
