All councilors present. E II. Resolution 2007 -18 — A Resolution Of The Common Council Of The City Of Greencastle In Support Of And To Gift Land To Ivy Tech Community College Of Indiana A. Planner Shannon Norman asked to table this resolution until tomorrow evening at which time a new Resolution will be presented with minor changes. Motion by Russ Evans, second by Bob Sedlack to table, unanimous approval. III. Annual Departmental Budget Reviews A. MVH Department — Paul Wilson 1. Mayor Michael presented MVH department requested budget with salary increase to all department supervisors of $1,500 and a recommended 3% increase to employees. Mayor Michael further explained that she is considering allowing the department supervisors to determine how to distribute this increase to individual employees based on merit. Discussion. Budget for Local Road and Street was reviewed with Council. Paul Wilson continued by asking to increase part time employees pay. B. Fire Department — Bill Newgent 1. Mayor Michael presented Fire Department budget with changes to personnel involving Building Inspector and new clerical position. Discussion. Council suggested holding off on these changes until new council and mayor can make these decisions. C. Police Department — Tom Sutherlin 1. Mayor Michael presented Police Department budget with not many changes to budget. Discussion regarding possible new vehicle purchases end of 2008. Chief Sutherlin shared with Council preliminary findings of Take Home Car Program appears to be successful with what appears to be about a $50 per month increase per car. D. Park and Recreation — Rod Weinschenk 1. Mayor Michael presented park's budget and reviewed with Council. Rod Weinschenk shared that in July 2008 there will be a re- dedication of the Bob Flannigan Band shell and would like to do some repairs and have a drive to band shell done prior to the dedication. Weinschenk shared he is looking to purchase a new pick -up truck if budget allows. Councilor suggested City consider purchasing a vehicle that is fuel efficient and useful for travel. Council reviewed non - reverting fund budgets. Rod shared with council that this fall he will need to have someone check the filtration on the "kiddie" pool. IV. Adjourn A.
