COUNCIL WORK SESSION, AUGUST 23, 2016
CALL TO ORDER
The Council Work Session of August 23, 2016, was convened at 5:35 P.M. by Mayor
Carrie Tergin.
ROLL CALL
The following Council Members were present for the roll call:
Present: Branch, Costales, Graham, Henry, Hussey, Mihalevich, Prather,
Schreiber, Ward and Wiseman
Absent: None
A quorum was declared present.
CONSULTANT’S PRESENTATION OF EAST CAPITOL AVENUE BLIGHT STUDY
Consultant, John Brancaglione of PGAV Planners, made a presentation of the East
Capitol Avenue Redevelopment Area Qualifications for Chapter 99 (LCRA) Designation
report. At the conclusion of the presentation, the Mayor and Council asked questions
which were answered by Mr. Brancaglione and Planning and Protective Services
Director Janice McMillan.
STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS AND ACTIONS TAKEN
Staff recommended an ordinance approving the blight study be brought to Council.
Following a lengthy discussion, Councilman Rick Prather moved that an ordinance be
brought directly to the Council. The motion was seconded by Councilman Larry Henry,
and approved unanimously.
ADJOURNMENT
The work session was adjourned at 6:33 P.M.
