A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TEMPLE CITY EULOGIZING SP4 MICHAEL C. VOLHEIM
AND EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES TO HIS FAMILY
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES
RESOLVE:
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Temple City
has received notice of the death of SP4 Michael C. Volheim,
United States Army, who was killed by sniper fire in Vietnam on
May 29, 1969; and
WHEREAS, SP4 Michael C. Volheim was, for several years,
a resident of this City, attending Oak Avenue Junior High and
Temple City High Schools, where he was graduated in 1966; and
WHEREAS, he is survived by his father, Herman W.
Volheim, formerly of Temple City and now of Hayward, California,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE
CITY does hereby express its condolences to his family and offers
its eulogies to SP4 Michael C. Volheim, who gave his life fighting
For freedom and his country.
The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Temple City at
a regular meeting held on the 17th day of June, 1969, by the
following vote of the Council:
AYES: Councilmen- Beckley, Briggs, Merritt, Harker
NOES: Councilmen -None
ABSENT: Councilmen - Tyrell
