A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT FOR THE JOINT
FINANCING OF A RECREATION CENTER COMPLEX BY AND BETWEEN THE GRAND
COUNTY SPECIAL SERVICE RECREATION DISTRICT AND THE CITY OF MOAB
WHEREAS, the City of Moab ("City") and the Grand County Special Service Recreation
District (GCSSRD) have determined that it is in the best interests of the citizens and inhabitants
of the City and Grand County to jointly finance the construction and operation of a new
Recreation Center; and
WHEREAS, U.C.A. § 11-13-216 authorizes governmental entities to enter into interlocal
agreements to provide governmental services; and
WHEREAS, the attached Interlocal Agreement for the Joint Financing of a Recreation Center
Complex by and between the Grand County Special Service Recreation District and the City of
Moab provides for the financing of the construction and ongoing maintenance and operation of a
Recreation Center to serve City of Moab and Grand County residents;
NOW, THEREFORE, we, the Governing Body of the City of Moab do hereby resolve to
approve said Interlocal Agreement in substantially the form presented to this meeting of the City
Council, and hereby authorize the appropriate officials to sign, execute and deliver said
agreement.
This resolution shall take effect immediately upon passage.
Passed and adopted by action of the Governing Body of the City of Moab in open session
this 28`h day of October, 2008.
