The Council of the Village of Medina met in regular session Tuesday evening,
June 6, 1967 at 7:33 P. M.

All members present.
The minutes of the previous meeting of May 2, 1967 read. Moved by Arthur
Theis that the minutes be approved as read.
Seconded by grold Winterhalter.
Motion carried.
Minutes of the Planning Commission meeting of May 15, 1967 read.
A letter of June 6, 1967 from George C. Gubbins, Jr. read, stating that there
is no limit to the number of off -sale liquor license the Village can issue
and therefore the Village can grant Mr. Fred Glampe an off -sale liquor license..
David Davis appeared with regard to a road into his place on Lake Ardmore. Y
Moved by Harold Winterhalter that we table the matter until such time as we
receive the final word from our attorney regarding any regent+action the
Legislature may have taken.
Seconded by Raymond Bosch.
Motion carried.
David Gates appeared with preliminary plat and tentative plans for four-plexes
to be built on his development. Moved by Rayburn Anderson that we grant
preliminary approval to the preliminary plan subject to modification of the
cul-de-sac to meet with our engineer's approval.
Seoonded by Arthur Theis.
Motion carried.
Bob Scott and Nealy Dorweiler appeared on behalf of the Northwest Chamber of
Commerce and gave a verbal report on the progress of the Sewage progect for
the Hamel area. The survey of the people in the area has been completed and
is generally favorable, however, the Chamber does not recommend to go ahead
immediately, but to proceed slowly rather than a crash program.
They also stated that the Chamber had been approached with regard to requesting
the Village to adopt a burning ordinance. After some discussion,it was the
consensus of opinion of the members of the Council that the passing of such an
ordinance was not feasible at this time so no action was taken. A letter from
H. H. Adams regarding burning on Tally -Ho farms was read.
Arthur Theis reported that Allen Engelman has equipment parked in his yard.
The neighbors are complaining that it is unsightly and dangdrous for children.
Arthur Theis advised to personally see Mr. Engelman and tell him that this
Medina-Morningside area is zoned residential and therefore he cannot keep
this equipment in his yard.
Moved by Harold Winterhalter to grant approval to permit #S-50-1967 of the
Gas Company.
Seconded by Raymond Bosch.
Motion carried.

Moved by Raymond Bosch to donate $25.00 to the Hennepin County Fair Board.
Seconded by Rayburn Anderson.
Motion carried.
Petition read protesting the change over from Northern States Power to Wright
Hennepin Co-op Electric Association, the same being signed by a number of
Medina reSrodents.
A letter from the Village of Brooklyn Park with regard to the junior college
was read. Moved by Raymond Bosch to table indeifinitely the *atter of a
donation for junior college property.
Seconded by Rayburn Anderson.
Motion carried.
A letter was read from Rep. John P. Wingard thanking the Council for *heir
Resolution showing opposition to Metropolitan government legislation.
Letter read stating that the Village of Medina will receive no monies from the
special allocation of monies from the County of Hennepin.
Frank Schneider appeared with regard to the road into his property.
Letter from Felix Kubic with regard to junk Roross the road from him was read.
Letter from Orono Independent School District with regard to lot sizes in
Village was read.
Moved by Rayburn Anderson to contact the Village engineer instructing him
to bring our village maps up to date as requested by the Planning Commission
and have a sufficient amount made up. ,
Seconded by Arthur Theis.
Motion carried. (Rayburn Anderson to order same from Mr. Mills)
Moved by Raymond Bosch to pay the bills, order checks in the amount of $4346.69
and payroll checks in the amount of $1559.32.
Seconded by Harold Winterhalter.
Motion carried.
Report by Rayburn Anderson on the road situation. He discussed with the Council
members and Emil Jubert what roads are to be patched, blacktopped and oiled.
Mr. Gubbins reported that he has been unable to persona41y contact "Hobo"
Carlson, has only been able to get in touch with Mr. Carlson's wife.
Wayne Allen appeared with regard to building permit for his father-in-law.
Moved by Rayburn Anderson to grant Ludwig Benjamin Olsba a building permit
to build a home on land which is owned jointly by him and Wayne Allen, provided
no conditions have been changed as regards to the request of the Planning
Commission on April 17, 1967.
Seconded by Arthur Theis.
Motion carried.
