AUTHORIZING APPROVAL OF THE IDA LEE PARK MASTER
PLAN
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department proposed a revision to the Ida
Lee Park Master Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission held citizen input
meetings to obtain public comments on future development of Ida Lee Park; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission endorsed the revised
Ida Lee Park Master Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission recommended the revised Master Plan for
Town Council approval; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council has reviewed the revised Ida Lee Park Master Plan
proposal in special work session; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council Planning and Zoning Committee has recommended
the deletion of the outdoor pool area, the street skate area, and one in-line hockey rink from
the original proposal; and
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Committee has recommended the addition of
an in-line hockey rink, an expansion of the Ida Lee Recreation Center, a horticultural area,
relocation of the outdoor amphitheater, and revising the football field to a football/lacrosse
field; and
WHEREAS, the Master Plan was revised to reflect the Planning and Zoning
Committee recommendations.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPROVAL OF THE IDAL PARK MASTER PLAN
The Ida Lee Park revised Master Plan dated June 13, 1997, is hereby approved.
