RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LOW, RESPONSIVE
QUOTE FOR THE VALLEY DRIVE
DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
FOR THE CITY OF RIVERDALE, IOWA .
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Riverdale ("City') authorized its Engineer
MSA Professional Services ("MSA") to prepare plans and specifications to obtain quotes for
drainage improvements to remove subsurface water flows from creating a hazardous driving
condition on Valley Drive near its intersection with U.S. Route 67; and,
WHEREAS, the City did obtain easement documents from Scott County Community
College and Michael and Jennifer Lauritsen as are necessary to convey these water flows away
from Valley Drive; and,
WHEREAS; the City Engineer did solicit proposals and did receive valid proposals to
specifications with the following results:
McClintock Trucking & Excavating $11,335.00
Miller Trucking & Excavating $39,100.00
Engineer's estimate $10,000.00
;and,
WHEREAS, having reviewed the above estimates for completeness, the City Engineer
does recommend awarding the bid to the low responsive, responsible bidder McClintock
Trucking & Excavating, Colona, Illinois for their estimate of$11,335.00.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF RIVERDALE, SCOTT COUNTY, IN THE STATE OF IOWA:
Section 1. That said the Estimate from McClintock Trucking & Excavating for the Valley
Drive Drainage Improvement project, dated June 26, 2019, in the amount of$11,335.00 shall be
made part of and is hereafter a part of this resolution.
Section 2. That the estimate from McClintock Trucking & Excavating, Colona, Illinois in
the amount of$11,335.00 shall be accepted by the City Council of the City of Riverdale
Section 3. That the Mayor shall sign his acceptance of the Estimate and City Clerk attest
the aforesaid Estimate with McClintock Trucking & Excavating, Inc.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 9th day of July, 2019.

all Labor, Equipment, and Material to perform
the following task. Dig up and cut existing
pipe and set new 36" area drain. Run 165' of
6" pipe. Pour new fillet in new area drain.
Backfill and compact open cut trench. Seed
with appropriate seed and cover with straw
mat.
