The BREWSTER AGRICULTI.rRAL COMMISSION
Held Thursday, May 25, 2006 at 7:00 p.m.
At the Brewster Town Office Building, 2198 Main Street, Room A
Present: Peter Herrmann, Heather Mangelinkx, John MacLellan, Julie Trzcinski„ Dave
Carlson, Stephen Brown
Mr. Herrmann called the meeting to order at 7:15 p.m.
Minutes of the May 11, 2006 meeting were accepted and unanimously approved by the
board.
Mr. Carlson brought up the definition of what a farm is and agreed that it is defined in the
proposed by-law.
Discussion about the cover letter to the selectmen and finance committee was discussed
and ideas were given so that Heather Mangelinkx can draft a letter to them.
Mr. Herrmann said he will try to get some brochures from the state explaining the right to
farm by-law that perhaps we can have inserted in the town warrant.
Other issues discussed were the various regulations in the town zoning and should we try
to change town zoning at this time but decided passing the right to farm by-law is the first
step for this committee.
Manure management committee will have another meeting on June 15`" before making a
presentation.
Motion to adjourn at 8:45 pm was made and seconded. Ail agreed.
