The BREWSTER AGRICULTURAL COMMISSION
Held Thursday, July 13, 2006 at 7:00 p.m.
At the Brewster Town Office Building, 2198 Main Street, Room A '06 SEP 26 P 2 :11
Present: Peter Herrmann, Heather Mangelinkx, Dave Carlson, Jack Latham, John
MacLellan
Mr. Hemnann called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m
Minutes of the June 8, 2006 meeting were accepted and unanimously approved by the
board with the exception of changing the typographical error for Mr. Scott Soares from
the Dept. of Revenue to the Dept of Agricultural Resources.
Ms. Trzcinski was not present at this meeting so the report for the manure management
committee was not available.
Mr. MacLellan brought in a map showing the towns agricultural areas according to those
listed as Chapter 61A. It was decided that we would fill in this map for other agriculture
during other meetings with everyone contributing to the areas they know of being used
for agriculture. It was decided we would categorize the map by different types of
agriculture: Livestock, fowl, equine
Aquaculture
Fruit
Cranberries
Nurseries
Bees
Tree Farms
The upcoming meeting on July 24`" with the selectmen about the bylaw was discussed.
Preparation on possible questions were discussed i. e. what is a farm, reason for having
the bylaw, and pesticides.
We agreed not have a meeting in August -the next meeting will be held on September
14~'.
Motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:OSpm was made -all agreed.
