The BREWSTER AGRICULTURAL COMMISSION
Held Thursday, September 14, 2006 at 7:00 p.m.
At the Brewster Town Office Building, 2198 Main Street, Room A
Present: Peter Herrmann, Heather Mangelinkx, Dave Carlson, Jack Latham, John
MacLellan
Mr. Herrmann called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Minutes of the July 13, 2006
meeting were accepted unanimously and approved by the board.
Mr. Herrmann handed out town councils (Zisson and Veara) review of the bylaw and
informed members that the bylaw is being presented to the finance committee at 6:15 pm
September 20a'.
Mr. Herrmann also informed the members that there is a conservation committee meeting
on Sept. 18~' discussing spraying of cranberry bogs and its effect on fresh water.
Mr. Herrmann told the members of a phone call he received from Joel Connally about
road construction taking some of his fruit trees and wanted our support in stopping this.
We decided he needed to come before us so that we may fully understand his problem.
Mr. Herrmann circulated a letter from the Mass Dept. of Agriculture concerning a
voluntary national identification program for farm animals - we decided this is
information the Board of Health should be involved with and not the Agriculture
Commission, he will forward the letter to them.
The next meeting we will work on a farm count map. Meeting adjourned at 8:20 pm -all
agreed.
