SPECIAL MEETING
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
June 26, 1995
MINUTES
I. ROLL CALL
President P. Siemens called the Special Meeting to order at 7:32 P.M.
Members Present: Pete Siemens, Mary Davey, Teena Henshaw, Nonette Hanko, Betsy Crowder,
and Wim de Wit.
Personnel Present: Craig Britton and Jean Fiddes.
II. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
There were no oral communications.
III. ADOPTION OF AGENDA
Motion: T. Henshaw moved that the Board adopt the agenda. M. Davey seconded the motion.
The motion passed 6 to 0.
IV. WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS
There were no written communications.
V. BOARD BUSINESS
A. Final Interviews of Applicants and Appointment of Director - Ward 4 (Report R-95-84�
The order for Board questioning of the finalists as determined by a random drawing was:
1. William Burks
2. David Smernoff
3. Howard Wilshire
4. John Brazil
The Board recessed for a break at 8:16 P.M. following D. Smernoff s question and answer
period and reconvened at 8:20 P.M. to resume with H. Wilshire. Each candidate was
questioned by Directors for twenty minutes. Following the Board's questioning of the
candidates, there was a random drawing for order of appearance for final statements.
The Board recessed for a break at 9:00 P.M. and the meeting reconvened at 9:17 P.M.
The order of summary statements was:

The District Clerk announced David Smernoff as the winner of the balloting.
Motion: T. Henshaw moved that the Board adopt Resolution 95-24, a Resolution of the
Board of Directors of the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District
Appointing David T. Smernoff Ward 4 Director. M. Davey seconded the
motion. The motion passed 6 to 0.
The District Clerk administered the oath of office to David Smernoff, and Director
Smernoff took his seat with the Board.
The Board thanked Messrs. Burks, Wilshire, and Brazil for their interest in the District and
participation lion in the Ward 4 interviews.
VI. ADJOURNMENT
The Special Meeting was adjourned at 10:04 P.M.
