Board of Assessors Meeting
January 11, 2006
Members Present: Jim Jursak, G. Howard Hayes and Diane Salomone
Also attending was David Tately, Deputy Assessor
Mr. Jursak called the meeting to order at 6:38 p.m.
Old Business:
Mr. Jursak moved to approve the minutes of the meetings of November 3, 2005, November
15, 2005, November 29, 2005 and December 20, 2005. Mr. Hayes seconded. Ms. Salomone
abstained from the votes for November 3, 2005 and November 15, 2005 as she was not on
the Board at that time. The motions passed unanimously.
Mr. Hayes moved to direct the Deputy Assessor to submit an article for the May 2006
Annual Town Meeting, to lower the interest rate on Clause 41 A Deferrals from 8% to a rate
to be determined after consultation with other interested town departments. The Board
recommends 5%. Ms. Salomone seconded the motion, which passed 3-0.
Mr. Hayes moved to deny the Clause 41 C exemption application of John Hinson, of 273
Governor Bradford Road, due to his assets exceeding the statutory limits. Ms. Salomone
seconded the motion, which passed 3-0.
New Business:
Mr. Hayes motioned to enter into Executive Session at 6:50 p.m. to discuss Abatements and
Exemptions and not return to open session. Ms. Salomone seconded. Each member voted
yes.
