Leesburg Offers Christmas Tree Recycling to Town Residents
No changes to trash or recycling collection schedule
for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays
Leesburg, VA (December 19, 2011) – The Town of Leesburg’s solid waste collection contractor,
CSI, will collect non-artificial Christmas trees from residential customers as part of their regular
recycling collection on the following days:
• Southeast & Southwest Quadrants January 5th & January 12th
• Northeast & Northwest Quadrants January 6th & January 13th
Please place Christmas trees at the curb before 6:00 a.m. on the day of collection and prepare
trees for collection using the following guidelines:
• Remove all decorations from trees, including tinsel, angel hair and fake snow.
• Remove all lights
• Remove all twine, string and metal or plastic ties
• Remove stands and bases
• Do not place in plastic or “Christmas Tree Disposal” bags
Before January 5th and after January 13th, Christmas trees with a trunk size of less than 6 inches
in diameter will be collected as part of the Town’s regular brush collection. Please follow the
above guidelines and place trees at curb by Monday evening.
There will be no changes to the trash or recycling collection over the Christmas or New Year’s
holidays this year. As a reminder, Town of Leesburg offices will close at 12 noon on Friday,
December 23, 2011 and will be closed on Monday, December 26, 2011, and Tuesday, December
27, 2011, for the Christmas holiday. Town offices will also be closed on Monday, January 2,
2012, in observance of the New Year’s holiday.
