Howard Hayes and Diane Salomone Also attending was David Tately, Deputy Assessor Mr. Jursak called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Old Business: Ms. Salomone moved the following be the policy of the Board of Assessors relative to abatement authority for motor vehicle excise under G.L. 60A, Section 8. Mr. Hayes seconded. It shall be the policy of the Mashpee Board of Assessors that the authority granted under G.L. chapter 60A, section 8, shall be exercised in all cases where the circumstances would result in abatement of the entire excise, such as where a taxpayer sold the vehicle or relocated to another state in the prior year. The motion passed 3-0. The Board directed the Deputy Assessor to file an "8 of 58" application with the DOR for permission to abate the personal property tax of Bradford Malo et al, of 62 Ridgewood Dr. New Business: Ms. Salomone moved to enter into Executive Session at 6:31 p.m. to discuss Abatements and Exemptions and not return to open session. Mr. Hayes seconded. Each member voted yes. ~'~ 2. Board of Assessors Meeting March 23, 2006 Executive Session The Board discussed a reconsideration of it's denial of the abatement for 179 Underpass Rd., owned by Baldur Realty LLC, based on the settlement of the FY OS Appellate Tax Board case for the same property. The Deputy Assessor was directed to offer $375,000. The Board discussed the upcoming ATB case for the property at 21 Ross Rd., owned by Therese Provenzano et al. The Deputy Assessor was authorized to offer a settlement of $25,000 reduction in value as a cost to cure the wet basement problems. Ms. Salomone moved to adjourn the meeting. Mr. Hayes seconded.
