RESOLUTION NO. 97- 268 ADOPTED October 28, 1997
A RESOLUTION: INITIATING AN AMENDMENT TO SECTION 5B OF THE ZONING
ORDINANCE CONCERNING THE H-2 CORRIDOR
WHEREAS, September 9, 1997, the Town Council initiated an amendment of the
1997 Town Plan calling for the extension of the H-2 Corddor along the Route 15 Bypass;
and
WHEREAS, implementation of the Town Plan amendment requires an amendment
to section 5B of the Zoning Ordinance, and
WHEREAS, the town desires the Town Plan Amendment and the Zoning
Ordinance amendment to accomplish the extension of the H-2 corridor on the Route 15
Bypass to be processed concurrently,
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia
as follows:
The Planning Commission is requested to forward a recommendation to the
Council concerning the appropriateness of amending pertinent sections of the Zoning
Ordinance which would call for the extension of the H-2 Historic Corridor Overlay
District over all or part of the Route 15 bypass.
If the Planning Commission recommendation is in the affirmative, the Planning
Commission is requested to also forward specific Zoning text and any supportive graphics
appropriate to the amendment.
