A RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING
CONSTRUCTION
PRESENTED January 13, 1998
ADOPTED January_ 13, 1998
REIMBURSEMENT FOR WATER LINE
WHEREAS, by Resolution 97-234, Council authorized reimbursement to Perini
Construction, in the amount $53,424.00, for the construction of a 16-inch waterline along
Evergreen Mill Road; and
WHEREAS, the owner of the school site property, Washington-Virginia Traditional
Development Sites, Inc., has proposed an alternate alignment through their property and
construction by their contractor to the Evergreen Mill Elementary School site; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that this proposal will provide construction of a 16-inch
waterline to the school site thereby accomplishing the town's objective to provide adequate
pressure and supply to serve future connections along Evergreen Mill Road; and
WHEREAS, Washington-Virginia Traditional Development Sites, Inc. has agreed to a
reimbursement in the amount of $62,229.00 as the town's share for the waterline upsize, based on
unit costs for the approved waterline design; and
WHEREAS, Perini Construction has agreed to construct a 16-inch waterline on the school
site for future connection by the town and has agreed to a reimbursement in the amount of
$10,182.00 as the town's share for the waterline upsize, based on unit costs for their approved
waterline design.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
SECTION I. The manager is hereby authorized and directed to reimburse Perini
Construction upon completion of their portion of the 16-inch waterline, an amount not to exceed
$10,182.00 and Washington-Virginia Traditional Development, Inc. upon completion of their
portion of the 16-inch waterline, an amount not to exceed $62,229.00.

SECTION II. An additional appropriation is hereby made to utility account # (306)
3120.700.774 in the amount of $19,000.00 from the unappropriated Utility Fund balance for
construction of the Evergreen Mill Road waterline.
