A RESOLUTION:

AUTHORIZING A MILLENNIUM ADVISORY COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, as the millennium approaches, special events and projects within Leesburg will be
planned to celebrate the year 2000; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council desires that a Millennium Advisory Committee be established as a
clearinghouse for special events, celebrations and other projects related to the millennium; and
WHEREAS, the major purpose of the committee will be to coordinate millennium events and
projects to ensure duplication is avoided and all efforts are properly scheduled and coordinated.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
SECTION I. A Millennium Advisory Commission is hereby created consisting of a member from
each of the town's advisory commissions.
SECTION II. The committee will be staffed by the Director of Parks and Recreation and Deputy
Town Manager.
SECTION III. The council liaison shall be Councilmember Jewell Emswiller.
