RESOLUTION NO. 98-41
A RESOLUTION: INITIATING AN AMENDMENT TO
THE 1997 TOWN PLAN CONCERNING IMPACTS RESULTING FROM
NEW DEVELOPMENT
PRESENTED February_ 10, 1998
ADOPTED February 10, 1998
THE ENVIRONMENT ELEMENT OF
WHEREAS, there is a significant mount of new development occurring in close
proximity to existing development within the town; and
WHEREAS, such new development generates impacts upon existing development; and
WHEREAS, it is in the interest of residents of the town that such impacts be minimized to
the greatest feasible degree,
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
The Planning Commission is requested to forward its recommendation to the Council
concerning the appropriateness of mending the Environment Element of the 1997 Town Plan as
follows:
"IMPLEMENTATION PROGRAM
Policies
General
(new) 6. The town encourages developers to plan and phase development and construction projects
within the town in a manner that minimizes the impact on existing projects, developments and
neighborhoods. The town recommends developers consider impacts including but not limited to,
construction traffic, noise, debris and blasting."
(The policies which follow shall be renumbered.)
