RESOLUTION NO. 98=65 ADOPTED February_ 24, 1998
A RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING A PURCHASE CARD PROGRAM FOR THE
TOWN OF LEESBURG
WHEREAS, purchase card programs expedite payment to the town's vendors by
eliminating the need for vendors to bill the town for small purchases; and
WHEREAS, purchase card programs reduce the staff time needed to process the town's
bills; and
WHEREAS, purchase card programs are in wide use by federal, state, and local
governments; and
WHEREAS, the Finance Committee approved a purchasing card program with First
Union National Bank on February 17, 1998.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the
Director of Finance is authorized to execute a Certificate of Borrowing Resolution with First
Union National Bank for the purpose of establishing a purchase card program.
