C. Terry Titus Appointed to Leesburg Town Council
A former council member, Mr. Titus will serve on the Town Council until the
April 17, 2012 Special Election.
Leesburg, VA (January 6, 2012) – At a special meeting on January 4, 2012, the Leesburg Town
Council appointed C. Terry Titus to fill the vacant Council seat until the April 17, 2012 special
election.
Mr. Titus is a former Town council member, having previously served on the Leesburg Town
Council from 1970 to 1977. During his tenure on Town Council, Mr. Titus served as the council
representative to the Board of Architectural Review and the Leesburg Planning Commission.
Following his service on the Leesburg Town Council, Mr. Titus was the Leesburg District
representative to the Loudoun County Planning Commission for eight years, from 1992 to 2000,
and served as the Commission’s chairman for three years during that time.
He was appointed to the Town’s Utility Rate Advisory Committee early last year.
In his letter of interest for the appointment, Mr. Titus noted his past council experience and his
familiarity with the issues facing the Town, particularly in land development. Mr. Titus retired
from the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation in 2009 after working for more than 45 years in
the private sector, performing surveying and land planning in Loudoun and Fairfax Counties.
A lifelong resident of Leesburg, Council Member Titus has indicated that he does not intend to
seek election to the post in April.
