Q '�� .`_....a.. r,,/// a 1i1111l1 ui0�� Community Preservation Committee Minutes October 25, 2006 PRESENT: Elliot Carr, Roy Robinson, Elizabeth Taylor, Paul Ruchinskas, Rollie Bassett, Paul Hush, Absent: Steve McKenna, Bill Reyburn, Michael Lach Guests: Ellen St. Sure, Mitzi Unger, Hank Foster The Meeting was called to Order at 4:30 PM by Chairman Carr. Public Meeting to discuss articles for Fall Town Meeting 2006. Minutes: September 27th moved for approval by Robinson, lid by Hush, All "AYE': 1. Introduction by Chairman Carr. 2. Brewster Historical Society : Glass Plate Negatives Foster — Past president of the Historical Society spoke about the glass plates. Early preservation was done with non-archival material — not using acid-free envelopes. The Society now has a new curator — Theresa Lamperti, who will work with the glass plate negatives using the correct preservation methods.. Hush - Questioned the derivation of the photographs. Foster —These are mostly turn of the century photos — botanical studies, photos of people, etc. — possibly the work of Caroline Dugan. Currently there are a number of historical documents (copies thererof) on display in the hall outside of the Town Clerk's office at Town Hall. 3.Town Hall Archival Preservation : Community Preservation Committee Minutes—October 25,2006 Page 1 of 2 St. Sure — There are four stages of work a. Initial work — organization of material b. Preservation of material c. Work with Millsites Committee, local churches, etc. to catalogue archival material for whole Town. d. Work with Historical Society to put material on the Internet Create CD to have available at Town Hall Mitzi Unger — There will be more projects as this work progresses. The Archives Committee will have future project requests such as shelving for the vault, map drawers. St. Sure — It is important for people to know how much information/documentation is needed as this work is done. There was further discussion of the archival materials and the funding requests. Motion to Adjourn Moved by Hush, second by Robinson.
