COMMITTEE, from the HISTORICAL SUB-COMMITTEE—Feb. 10, 2006
1. We recommend that the Committee approve the HISTORIC RECORDS
PROJECT, recommendations #1,#2, and#3 —cataloguing and preserving
Brewster's archival records that are located at Town Hall, and the purchase of a
map case,
in the amount of- $24,500.
And that it be understood that recommendation#4—repair of climate control in
the town vault - will be paid for by the town. And further, that request for funds
for# 5 —creating a"finding aid" for town-related archives located in other town
institutions—and# 6— putting this information in a database that can be accessed
by the public and digitizing appropriate archives—will be submitted at a later
time. (Estimated cost- $7,600)
2. We recommend that the Committee approve the request to preserve the
HIGGINS FARM WINDMILL,
in the amount of- $13,000.
It is understood that an Historic Preservation Restriction will be obtained in
conjunction with this project.
3. We recommend that the Committee approve the BREAKWATER RD/FIRST
PARISH CEMETERY RESTORATION PROJECT request,
in the amount of$6,500.
4. We are in favor of the historic RESTORATION of the WINDOWS OF THE
OLD TOWN HALL, but must have specific amounts required before
recommending that this project go ahead.
5. We do not recommend approval of the purchase of the DILLINGHAM HOUSE.
