A RESOLUTION:
PRESENTED April 14, 1998
98-87 ADOPTED April 14, 1998
AMENDING THE ENVIRONMENTAL ELEMENT OF THE
1997 TOWN PLAN CONCERNING IMPACTS RESULTING
FROM NEW DEVELOPMENT
WHEREAS, there is a significant amount of new development occurring in close
proximity to existing development within the town; and
WHEREAS, such new development generates impacts upon existing development;
and
WHEREAS, it is in the interest of residents of the town that such impacts be
minimized to the greatest feasible degree; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor's Blasting Committee recommended an amendment to the
Town Plan; and
WHEREAS, a joint public hearing was held by the Planning Commission and the
Town Council on March 24, 1998; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission on April 2, 1998, recommended adoption
of the proposed amendment.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia
as follows:
The Environment Element of the 1997 Town Plan is hereby amended as follows:

Policies
General
The town encourages developers to plan and phase development
and construction projects within the town in a manner that minimizes the
impact on existing projects, developments and neighborhoods. The town
recommends developers consider impacts including but no limited to,
construction traffic, noise, debris and blasting.
