AUTHORIZING A BATTLEFIELD PARKWAY DETAILED
ALIGNMENT STUDY AND MAKING AN APPROPRIATION
WHEREAS, Battlefield Parkway is an important element of the town's transportation
plan; and
WHEREAS, development is occurring along the general alignment of the road; and
WHEREAS, in order to specifically identify locations of the alignment on developing
property, a more complete engineering study is required; and
WHEREAS, Dewberry and Davis has compiled a significant amount of data from their
work regarding Battlefield Parkway and land development; and
WHEREAS, Dewberry and Davis has prepared and presented proposals to the town to
perform a study to establish a detailed alignment for Battlefield Parkway between Potomac
Crossing and South King Street.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
SECTION I. The town manager is hereby authorized to contract with Dewberry and
Davis to conduct the Battlefield Parkway Detailed Alignment Study.
SECTION II. An appropriation in the amount of $24,000 is hereby authorized from the
unappropriated general fund balance for this study.
