A RESOLUTION:
PRESENTED April 28, 1998
98-113 ADOPTED April 28, 1998
ADOPTING A MOTTO FOR THE TOWN OF LEESBURG
WHEREAS, the Town Council solicited suggestions for a town motto from
Leesburg citizens; and
WHEREAS, twenty suggested mottoes were received from Leesburg residents;
and
WHEREAS, the Administration and Public Works Committee of April 21, 1998
selected, by unanimous vote "Where History and Progress Abide" as Leesburg's new
motto; and
WHEREAS, this suggestion was provided by Ms. Trish Perry of Leesburg.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia
as follows:
"Where History and Progress Abide" is hereby adopted as the motto for the Town
of Leesburg.
PASSED this 28m day of April, 1998.
