AUTHORIZING THE GRANT OF $10,000 TO THE CENTRAL
LOUDOUN LITTLE LEAGUE FOR THE PURPOSE OF
PURCHASING FIELDS AND MAKING AN APPROPRIATION
WHEREAS, Central Loudoun Little League's Board of Directors have been raising funds
to purchase Goodtimes Park including 6.9 acres, three regulation baseball fields, a concession
stand and office for many years; and
WHEREAS, a memorandum dated September 5, 1995, requested a $10,000 contribution
to assist in the purchase oftl{e property; and
WHEREAS, the purchase meets major town recreation and open space needs; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg agrees to manage the park should Central Loudoun
Little League cease to exist; and
WHEREAS, the town agrees with the wording contained in the attached deed.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
SECTION I. An appropriation of $10,000 from the general fired balance is hereby
authorized for the purpose of granting the Central Loudoun Little League its request for assistance
to purchase Goodtimes Park.
SECTION II. All previous legislation is hereby rescinded.
