AUTHORIZING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR THE WATER
SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS WPZ, PHASE II, MAIN ZONE PHASES
III, IV AND V AND THE SEWAGE PUMP STATION AT THE WATER
PLANT.
WHEREAS, this project was duly advertised and a public, bid opening held on April 29,
1998, pursuant to local and state public procurement laws; and
WHEREAS, the lowest responsive bid was received from Owens & Dove, Inc., of
Manassas Park, Virginia, in the amount of $1,304,258.54; and
WHEREAS, the town's consultant engineer, O'Brien & Gere, has reviewed the bids and
determined the Owens & Dove, Inc., bid to be responsive and the bidder to be a responsible
contractor.
THEREFORE, RESOVLED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
The town manager is hereby directed to enter into a contract with Owens & Dove, Inc., in
a form approved by the deputy town attorney, in the amount of $1,304,258.54 for construction of
the aforementioned water system improvements. Notice to proceed shall not be issued until
recordation of easements associated with the project.
