AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR ENGINEERING AND DESIGN OF
THE NORTH KING STREET STORM DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS
PROJECT
WHEREAS, the FY98 Capital Improvement Program includes a project for engineering
and design of the North King Street Storm Drainage Improvements project with an authorized
budget of $100,000; and
WHEREAS, the town received from consulting engineering firms three responses to a
Request for Proposals for engineering and design of the project; and
WHEREAS, the written and oral responses from each firm were evaluated by a selection
committee, which included a member of council, in accordance with the town Purchasing Policy;
and
WHEREAS, Paciulli, Simmons & Associates, Ltd. of Leesburg, Virginia was judged by
the selection committee to be best qualified to perform the work; and
WHEREAS, fee negotiations conducted with Paciulli, Simmons & Associates, Ltd
resulted in establishing the cost for the work at $45,080.00 for Phase I Preliminary Design and
$54,920 for Phase II Final Design and Construction Plans; and
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follow:

AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR ENGINEERING AND DESIGN OF
THE NORTH KING STREET STORM DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS
PROJECT
SECTION I. The Town Manager is authorized to execute, on behalf of the town, a
contract for engineering and design of the North King Street Storm Drainage Improvements
project with Paciulli, Simmons & Associates, Ltd.
SECTION II. The Town Manager is authorized to issue at this time, a Notice to Proceed
to Paciulli, Simmons & Associates, Ltd. for Phase I: Preliminary Design at a cost of $45,080.00.
SECTION III. The Town Manager is authorized to issue, at such time as additional funds
are appropriated for this project, a Notice to Proceed to Paciulli, Simmons & Associates, Ltd. for
Phase II: Final Design and Construction Plans at a cost of $54,920.00.
