Call to Order Chair Larry Brandhorst called the meeting to order at 9:35 am. 2. Review and Approve minutes of the August 31,2016 meeting. The committee approved the minutes. 3. Old Business—Review list of proposed amendments None were noted for changes. 4. Continue review of Chapter 10,starting at Section 1011. The committee continued review of Chapter 10 and will continue at the next meeting starting at Section 1020. Proposed amendments are shown on the attached list. 5. New Business Discussion was held to see when Chapter 9 might be discussed jointly with the Fire and Property Maintenance code review committee. It was proposed that the Chamber of Commerce would host a lunch where all of the code review committees could attend. 6. Public Comments None were made. 7. Next Meeting Date?^'October S`"? The next meeting date will be from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, October 5, 2016. 8. Adjourn The meeting adjourned at 11:25 am. Proposed Amendments to the 2015 International Building Code: 1. Section 305.2.3—Replace "five"with "ten" throughout this section. 2. Section 308.6.4—Replace "five" with "ten"throughout this section. 3. Section 402—Does this Section include "strip malls?" 4. Section 420.5— Review automatic sprinkler system for Group R occupancies. 5. Current City Code for Chapter 9: Section 903.2.8: Delete this Section and insert in lieu thereof the following: Section 903.2.8: Group R-1, An automatic sprinkler system shall be provided throughout buildings with a R-1 fire area. Section 903.2.8.a: Group R-2, An automatic sprinkler system shall be provided throughout all buildings with Group R-2 fire area where more than two stories in height, including basements, or where having more than 10 dwelling units EXCEPTION: A residential sprinkler system installed in accordance Section 903.3.1.2 shall be allowed in buildings,or portions thereof,of Group R-2 Section 903.2.8.b: Group R-4, An automatic sprinkler system shall be provided throughout all buildings with a Group R-4 fire area. 6. Section 1011.4 — Measurement of walk line? Does this this include the entire width of the stair or clear width? 7. Section 1015.2 — Guard should also be provided for site features where people still have a chance of falling.
