AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A
SPECIAL ARRANGEMENT CONTRACT WITH THE STATE BOARD
FOR COMMUNITY COLLEGES
WHEREAS, in support of the primary goal of Virginia employers to increase
productivity, it is desirable to raise the education level of Virginia employers' employees by
providing them the opportunity to earn post secondary college credits, certificates and degrees;
and
WHEREAS, in support of Virginia employer's emphasis upon education development, it
is the desire of the college to participate and render its services to the education program
supported by the Virginia employer and to afford an educational opportunity to qualified
personnel; and
WHEREAS, the State Board of Community Colleges permits the reduction of tuition
rates for out-of-state students who are employed in Virginia and whose employer is paying their
tuition.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
The town manager is authorized to enter into a special arrangement contract with the
State Board of Community Colleges to allow for out-of-state students employed by the town to
receive in-state tuition rates.
