A RESOLUTION: PRESENTED October 27, 1998 98- 2a3 ADOPTED October 27, 1998 INSTALLING SPEED BUMPS AND ADDITIONAL SIGNS IN THE ALLEY BETWEEN LOUDOUN STREET AND MARKET STREET WHEREAS, the alleyway between Loudoun Street and Market Street adjacent to the town's parking facility is not a public street; and WHEREAS, it is difficult for a pedestrian exiting from the parking facility to see vehicles approaching the crosswalk; and WHEREAS, the Department of Engineering and Public Works has conducted an engineering traffic investigation of the alleyway to determine how to warn drivers of pedestrians exiting the parking facility and entering the crosswalk; and WHEREAS, staff recommended that prefabricated removable type speed bumps be placed on a trial basis and additional signs be installed in the alleyway near the Green Tree Restaurant and Caulkins Jewelers. THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows: The town manager is authorized to purchase and have installed prefabricated removable speed bumps in the alleyway and additional signage to warn motorists and pedestrians traffic.
