Reports
Council member Case reported the progress on the Iona Historical Museum was coming along
nicely.
Council President Shaw, no report.
Council member McArthur reported the first statue would be ready to install this week, and he
had been spraying weeds around the perimeter of the park. McArthur also announced he would
be leaving at the end of January for a church mission.
Public Works Supervisor Prouse reported that he had been with Rocky Mountain Power to
have the street lights retrofitted for more efficient lighting. He reminded the Council (and the
community) that he would be doing the biannual flushing of the water hydrants next week.
Supervisor Prouse and the Council discussed the increased water usage in Iona, some alternatives
to buying water rights, including the development of a retention pond, and the possibility of
installing water meters. Prouse reminded the Council that if a new well was obtained, a
mitigation plan would also be needed.
Supervisor Prouse presented information on a new mower/snow blower and asked that the
Council discuss and decide if purchasing it would be possible this year. Council agreed to
discuss this at the Council meeting when the Treasurer will be present.
