HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrdinance 948 - Appropriation Ordinance FY 17 BudgetORDINANCE NO. 948 AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED THE FY17 ANNUAL APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2016, APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $23,461,779 TO DEFRAY THE EXPENSES AND LIABILITIES OF THE CITY OF McCALL FOR SAID FISCAL YEAR, AUTHORIZING A LEVY OF A SUFFICIENT TAX. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF McCALL, VALLEY COUNTY, STATE OF IDAHO: SECTION 1. TITLE: This Ordinance shall be entitled and cited as the "FY17 Annual Appropriation Ordinance of the City of McCall." SECTION 2. FINDINGS: The City Council finds: A. As required by law, the city has duly noticed and held a public hearing on the 11 th day of August, 2016 for a proposed Budget for Fiscal Year 2016-2017 (FY17) for the City of McCall, Idaho; and B. That the sum of $23,461,779 be, and the same is, appropriated to defray the necessary expenses and liabilities of the City of McCall, Valley County, State of Idaho for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2016. C. That the appropriations and sums of money as are hereinafter set forth in Section 3 are deemed necessary to defray all the necessary expenses and liabilities of the City of McCall for FY17. SECTION 3. ADOPTION OF THE BUDGET AND APPROPRIATION OF EXPENDITURE: The City Council hereby adopts the budget and the appropriation of expenditures for the City of McCall, Idaho, for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2016, and ending September 30, 2017 the objects for which such appropriation is made, and the amount of each object and purpose is as follows: ORDINANCE NO. 948— Passage Date September 1, 2016 I of 3 APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE — FY17 BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF McCALL, IDAHO ESTIMATED EXPENDITURES: GENERAL FUND Mayor and Council $314,968 Info Systems $329,070 City Manager $401,803 Administrative Costs $330,884 Finance Department $402,393 Clerk Department $224,105 Local Option Tax Department $400,710 Community Development $638,184 Police Department $1,408,486 Parks $620,206 Grants $29,300 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) $1,479,523 Contingency $122,904 GENERAL FUND TOTAL $6,702,536 Streets/Public Works Fund $2,189,548 Library Fund $474,552 Recreation Fund $1,418,186 Airport Fund $4,420,164 Capital Projects Fund $100,000 Local Option Tax — Streets $2,401,827 Golf Fund $936,652 Water Fund $2,414,834 Sewer Fund $2,403,480 SPECIAL REVENUE & ENTERPRISE FUND EXPENDITURES $16,759,243 TOTAL PROPOSED EXPENDITURES $23,461,779 SECTION 4. TAX LEVY: That a general tax levy on all taxable property within the City of McCall be levied in an amount allowed by law for the general purposes for said City, for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2016. SECTION 5. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed. SECTION 6. The City Clerk is directed to forthwith publish this Ordinance and file a certified copy of the same with the office of the Secretary of State of the State of Idaho as provided in I.C. §50-1003 and this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force upon its passage, approval and publication in one issue of The Star -News, a newspaper for general circulation of the City of McCall, and the official newspaper of said City.
