AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF THE
CONTRIBUTION DATED NOVEMBER 3, 1998
WHEREAS, the town received a contribution dated November 3, 1998; and
WHEREAS, the contributor requested that Town Council distribute the gift to
services for needy people of Leesburg for the holiday season; and
WHEREAS, Town Council has determined that Daily Bread and Interfaith Relief,
Salvation Army, Transitional Housing, Loudoun Abused Women's Shelter and Blue
Ridge Speech and Hearing meet the grantor's restrictions and should receive equal
contributions to be used by December 31, 1998.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia
that appropriations of the contribution dated November 3, 1998, in the amount of
$100,000 are hereby authorized as follows:
· $20,000 to Daily Bread and Interfaith Relief
· $20,000 to Salvation Army
· $20,000 to Transitional Housing Facility and Center
· $20,000 to Loudoun Abused Women's Shelter
· $20,000 to Blue Ridge Speech and Hearing
These funds are to be used during the holiday season before December 31, 1998,
and are subject to approval by the town attorney. Each receiving agency must report to
the Town Council how the funds were implemented and how many people were served.
