1. Call to Order
Vice Chair Larry Kolb called the meeting to order at 10:04 am.
2. Review and approve minutes from the meeting held on September 20,2016.
The minutes were approved.
3. Old Business—review draft proposed amendments to the code for additions or deletions(see
attached list to the minutes).
The list was reviewed. No additions or deletions.
4. Start review of Chapters 15, 16 and Appendix Al.
Chapters 15 and 16 were reviewed without exceptions noted. Appendix Al was discussed along
with the other appendixes. A decision was not reached about adopting this section of the code.
5. New Business—next meeting assigned sections
The appendix to the code will be discussed at the next meeting if they need to be reviewed. It
was also discussed that a special joint meeting of the subcommittees will be held on October
27th to discuss fire suppression systems,specifically sprinklers.

No public comments were made.
7. Next meeting date?"'October 18th?
The next meeting date will be October 18, 2016.

The meeting adjourned at 11:57 am.
2015 Existing Building Code and Commentary possible amendments:
1. Section 105.2-refer to Sections 706(reroofing)and 707.2 for addition or replacement of
roofing or replacement of equipment-what is exempt from permit?
2. Section 401.1.1-Code-change "shall"to"may";Commentary-change"must"to"should"
3. Section 401.2.3-What are the existing seismic force categories for Jefferson City?
4. Section 406.1--Code-change "shall"to"may";Commentary-change "must"to"should"
-reason is for historic buildings for grants.
5. Section 408.3-Add a 4th exception-"4. Historic districts." Note-does this include
Landmarks?
6. Section 702.5-Eliminate window fall protection devices-reference ASTM F 2090.
7. Section 705.1.8-Question the need for number of Type A units that are actually required
versus mandatory.
8. Section 708.1-delete section -- IECC compliance required
9. Section 811.1--delete section --IECC compliance required
10. Section 908.1--delete section -- IECC compliance required
11. Section 1002.1-modify the last sentence of the first paragraph to"...,the building or only
the affected part of the building shall comply..."
12. Section 1012.8-delete or soften to"should"from "shall"
13. Section 1106.1-delete section since it refers to the IECC.
14. Chapter 12-review again with respect to what is"historic."
15. Section 1401.2-What date will be inserted?
16. Section 1401.2.5-review accessibility requirements.
17. Section 1401.4.1-should this section state"...structural analysis by an engineer..."?
