RESOLUTION No. 69 -977
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE
CITY, CALIFORNIA, COMMENDING THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF
THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, FOR THEIR EFFORTS TO
DISCHARGE A SELF - ACKNOWLEDGED MEMBER OF THE COMMUNIST
PARTY FROM TEACHING AT A TAX - SUPPORTED STATE UNIVERSITY,
AND URGING THEM TO PURSUE LEGAL APPEAL.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Temple City wishes
to commend the efforts of the Board of Regents of the University of
California for their efforts to discharge a self - acknowledged member
of the Communist Party from teaching at a tax - supported State
University.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of
the City of Temple City, California, does hereby commend the efforts
of the Board of Regents of the University of California for their
efforts to discharge one Angela Davis, a self - acknowledged member of
the Communist Party, from her teaching position at a tax - supported
State University, and urge said Board of Regents to pursue such
legal appeals as are necessary to affirm said position.

1969.
