AUTHORIZING AN APPROPRIATION FROM THE
UNAPPROPRIATED GENERAL FUND BALANCE INTO THE
PARKS AND RECREATION REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE
ACCOUNT FOR MODIFICATIONS TO THE FRONT DOORS AT IDA
LEE PARK RECREATION CENTER
WHEREAS, the front doors at the Ida Lee Park Recreation Center have been
continuously damaged by high wind conditions prevalent at Ida Lee Park; and
WHEREAS, the current design of the front door system at the Ida Lee Park Recreation
Center is unable to effectively handle the stress load caused by high wind conditions; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has identified the front door system
to be a potential safety hazard during high wind conditions; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has researched several options for
improving the condition; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has recommended two options for
review by Town Council; and
WHEREAS, the Finance Committee has recommended the authorization of an
appropriation of $40,000 from the unappropriated fund balance of the general fund in order to
redesign the entry system and to install automatic sliding doors.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:

FOR FRONT DOORS AT IDA LEE
The Town Council hereby authorizes an appropriation of $40,000 from the
unappropriated general fired into the parks and recreation repairs and maintenance account line
item 200.7104.300.304 to fund modifications to the front door system at Ida Lee Park Recreation
Center.
