A RESOLUTION: 99-99 AWARDING A CONTRACT IRRIGATION OF THE PARK PRESENTED April 13, 1999 ADOPTED April 13, 1999 FOR SITE DEVELOPMENT AND SOCCER/LACROSSE FIELDS AT IDA LEE WHEREAS, the town's Capital Improvement Program includes' a project for the construction of two soccer/lacrosse fields a Ida Lee Park; and WHEREAS, the soccer/lacrosse fields are part of the Phase II Development Plan at Ida Lee Park; and WHEREAS, partial funding for this project is provided by the Virginia Outdoors Fund Program; and WHEREAS, sealed bids were solicited and received under Section 8.1, Competitive Sealed Bidding of the Town of Leesburg's Purchasing Policy for the site development and irrigation of the soccer/lacrosse fields; and WHEREAS, three bids were received and evaluated pursuant to the bid documents and the Town of Leesburg,s Purchasing Policy; and WHEREAS, W.G. Harrison, Inc., is the lowest bidder at $275,349, and has been declared to be both responsible and responsive; and WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department recommends that a contract in the amount of $275,349 be awarded to W.G. Harrison, Inc., for site development and irrigation of the project; and -2- A RESOLUTION: AWARDING CONTRACT FOR SITE DEVELOPMENT WHEREAS, the Town Council Finance Committee has recommended approval of the contract award to W.G. Harrison, Inc., in the amount of $275,349 for site development and irrigation of the soccer/lacrosse fields at Ida Lee Park. THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows: The Town Manager is authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the town, a lump sum contract with W.G. Harrison, Inc., for the contract amount of $275,349 for site development and irrigation for two soccer/lacrosse fields at Ida Lee Park as part of the Ida Lee Park Phase II Development Plan.
