A RESOLUTION:
PRESENTED April 13, 1999

APPROVING THE BUDGET AND MAKING APPROPRIATIONS
FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2000
WHEREAS, the budget and tax rates for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2000, have been
presented and reviewed by this Council in accordance with Section 4-2.1:l(b) of the Town Code
and Section 15.1-160 of the 1950 Code of Virginia, as amended; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing on the proposed budget and tax rates was held on March 23,
1999; and
WHEREAS, Council met in budget workshop sessions on March 13, 1999, March 17,
1999, and March 27, 1999; and
WHEREAS, the tax rate for 1999 real estate taxes will remain unchanged at $0.22 per $100
of assessed valuation and personal property taxes will remain unchanged at $1.00 per $100 of
assessed valuation.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
SECTION I. The acting town manager's proposed budget is adopted and appropriations are
made to include the adjustments proposed to the categories and accounts of the general fund in the
amount of $21,273,872, utility fund in the amount of $27,995,468, airport fund in the amount of
$1,131,484 and capital projects funds in the amount of $20,699,768 provided that capital projects
funds appropriations shall remain in effect until the projects are completed.

RESOLUTION: ADOPTING BUDGET FY 2000
SECTION II. The acting town manager is authorized to transfer appropriations made
herein to accounts within the same departmental budget as long as the total appropriation for the
departments is not adjusted·
