AUTHORIZING A STREET CLOSURE FOR A PARADE SPONSORED
BY THE LOUDOUN BORDER GUARDS FIFE AND DRUM CORPS
AND THE LOUDOUN MUSEUM
WHEREAS, the Loudoun Border Guards and the Loudoun Museum will be hosting its
First Annual Fife and Dram Muster at Ida Lee Park on Saturday, May 1, 1999; and
WHEREAS, the Loudoun Border Guards and the Loudoun Museum have planned a parade
to kick-off the event; and
WHEREAS, the parade route requires the street closings of Wirt Street from North Street
to Loudoun Street, Loudoun Street from Wirt Street to King Street, King Street from Loudoun
Street to Battlefield Parkway, and Ida Lee Drive from King Street to the Ida Lee Park Recreation
Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, the Leesburg Police Department and the Leesburg Public Works Department
have reviewed the parade route; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council recommends approval of the respective street closings.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
The Town Manager is hereby authorized to close Wirt Street from North Street to Loudoun
Street, Loudoun Street from Wirt Street to King Street, King Street from Loudoun Street to
Battlefield Parkway, and Ida Lee Drive from King Street to the Ida Lee Park Recreation Center
from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 1, 1999.
