A RESOLUTION:
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM
OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE NORTHERN VIRGINIA
REGIONAL PARK AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, the Leesburg Town Council desires to acquire 141 acres of land to expand the
existing Balls Bluff Regional Park; and
WHEREAS, this project is included in the town budget for fiscal year 2000 and Capital
Improvement Program 2000-2004; and
WHEREAS, the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority desires to participate in this
project with the Town of Leesburg; and
WHEREAS, the attached Memorandum of Understanding memorializes the town's and
NVRPA's joint interest and participation in this important regional recreation and preservation
project.

THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority for the joint acquisition of certain property for park
purposes.
