RESOLUTION NO. 99-126 ADOPTED April 27, 1999
A RESOLUTION: DONATING A TOWN VEHICLE TO THE LEESBURG POLICE
CITIZEN SUPPORT TEAM, INC.
WHEREAS, the Leesburg Police Citizen Support Team, Inc., (LPCST) donated over
7,000 hours in assisting the Leesburg Police Department in 1998; and
WHEREAS, members of the LPCST routinely use their private vehicles to patrol the
town in assisting the Leesburg Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the town will donate a former police vehicle to the LPCST and that the
following conditions will apply:
1. The vehicle will only be used for official LPCST functions.
2. The town will provide gasoline and minor repairs for the vehicle until town staff
determines further repairs will be too costly.
3. The LPCST will title the vehicle and provide appropriate insurance coverage.
4. If the vehicle should cease to be used by the LPCST for their official functions said
vehicle shall be returned to the town.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
The Acting Town Manager is authorized to donate a vehicle to the Leesburg Police
Citizen Support Team, Inc., on behalf of the town.
