F.1.PLAINFIELD LOGISTICS CENTRE (CASE NO.

The applicant will present an introduction and overview of the Plainfield Logistics Centre,
a proposed, 1.2-million-square-foot warehouse development located on the east side of
Ridge Road south of 143rd Street.

F.2.GREENBELT PLANNING
Staff has invited representatives from Upland Design and The Conservation Foundation
to participate in a discussion regarding the concept of a “greenbelt” or landscape and
land use buffer or transition in the area along 143rd Street and Steiner Road. The
greenbelt buffer could also provide recreation and stormwater management
opportunities. Staff is seeking Board consensus on the concept in order to further
develop plans, which could be implemented with upcoming developments.

G.EXECUTIVE SESSION - Seeking Board consideration of a motion to adjourn to Executive
Session as permitted under the Open Meetings Act, under Section 2 (c)(2) to discuss
Collective negotiating matters between the public body and its employees or their
representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of
employees.

and the Board of Trustees
Held on June 27, 2022
In the Boardroom
Mayor Argoudelis called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Board Present: Mayor Argoudelis, Trustee
Calkins, Trustee Kalkanis, Trustee Larson, Trustee Ruane, and Trustee Benton. Board absent: Trustee
Wojowski. Others Present: Joshua Blakemore, Village Administrator; Michelle Gibas, Village Clerk;
Scott Threewitt, Assistant Public Works Director; Jon Proulx, Planning Director; Traci Pleckham,
Management Services Director; Jack Malec, Management Analyst; Jake Melrose, Economic
Development Director; and John Konopek, Chief of Police. There were approximately 8 persons in the
audience.
Trustee Ruane moved to approve the Minutes of the Committee of the Whole Workshop held on May 23,
2022. Second by Trustee Benton. Voice Vote. All in favor, 0 opposed. Motion carried.
PRESIDENTIAL COMMENTS
Mayor Argoudelis:
Commented on community events including the Great Race, Eaton Preserve Grand Re-opening,
Webb Chevy Bike Ride, and Kamala Harris, Vice President of the United States, visit. Mayor
Argoudelis thanked everyone involved with all of these events.
Stated that as Mayor he is not associated with any political party. He is everyone’s mayor and all
about getting the job done.
Commented on the Vice-President’s visit and stated that he will welcome all elected officials
gracefully and with dignity and respect.
TRUSTEE COMMENTS
Trustee Benton:
Commented on the events and thanked the Police Department.
Encouraged everyone to be aware of motorcycles.
Commented on Early Voting at the Village Hall.
PUBLIC COMMENTS
Reverend Richard Wisdom, Credentialed Chaplin for the United States Secret Service Chicago Region,
on behalf of the Secret Service, thanked the Village of Plainfield, Police Chief John Konopek, Fire Chief
Jon Stratton and all emergency responders for their efforts in keeping Kamala Harris, Vice President of
the United States, safe during her visit.
WORKSHOP
1) CROSSROADS 143RD & WALLIN – TRUCKING REPAIR AND PARKING
Mr. Steve Caton and Mr. Bill Caton gave a presentation highlighting a proposed membership based semi-
truck maintenance, repair, and parking business at the southeast corner of 143rd Street and Wallin Drive.
Mr. Bill Caton pointed out that non-membership semi-truck repairs would also be offered.
Trustee Kalkanis expressed concern regarding the proposed location. Trustee Benton expressed concern
regarding berm, landscaping, and lighting. Trustee Larson express concern regarding the location.
Trustee Ruane expressed concern regarding the location, roadway maintenance, enforcement, and
stormwater management. Trustee Calkins expressed concern regarding the location and cargo left in the
trailers.
Mayor Argoudelis thanked staff and read the reminders.

Trustee Benton moved to adjourn. Second by Trustee Calkins. Voice Vote. All in favor, 0 opposed.
Motion carried.
The meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
