A RESOLUTION:
AUTHORIZING THE NEGOTIATION
MAINTENANCE TRAINING FACILITY
MUNICIPAL AIRPORT
PRESENTED May 11, 1999
ADOPTED May 11, 1999
FOR AN AVIATION
AT THE LEESBURG
WHEREAS, a Request for Proposal for an aviation maintenance training facility at or
near the Leesburg Airport was duly advertised and responses received by the advertised deadline;
and
WHEREAS, a proposal review team was assembled and completed a review of the
proposals received; and
WHEREAS, the construction of an aviation maintenance training facility on Town
property at Leesburg airport will enhance the economic vitality and stability of the Town of
Leesburg; and
WHEREAS, the successful negotiations to provide an aviation maintenance training
facility will further the economic growth of the Town of Leesburg:
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
SECTION I. The Town Manager, acting through the Assistant Town Manager for
Economic Development and the proposal review team, is hereby authorized to proceed with
negotiations with the companies identified in the Request For Proposal review process for an
aviation maintenance training facility to be constructed upon land owned by the Town of
Leesburg at the Leesburg Airport;

SECTION II. Upon completion of negotiations, the results shall be reviewed with the
Leesburg Airport Commission prior to their submission to the Town Council for approval.
SECTION 112. The Leesburg Airport Commission, the Assistant Town Manager for
Economic Development, and the proposal review team are required to bring the results of the
negotiations back to the Council for their review and final approval as soon as possible.
