CITY TEMPLE CITY CALIFORNIA DECEMBER 21, 1965 Mayor Harker called the Special Meeting to order at 6 :35 P. M. This Special Meeting was called by the Mayor and special no- tices were delivered to each Councilman and receipt of the notice was acknowledged by them.' Special notices were given the newspapers as required. ROLL CALL: PRESENT: Councilmen - Dickason, Merritt, Tyrell, Harker ABSENT: Councilman - Nunamaker ALSO PRESENT: City Attorney Martin and City Manager Koski City Attorney Martin stated a petition for Annexation #10 had been receivedtsigned by the required number of persons, the signatures have been certified by the Registrar of Voters and the City Clerk. He presented Resolution No. 65 -553 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TEMPLE CITY DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO CALL A SPECIAL ANNEXATION ELECTION, AND FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR PROTESTS BY PROPERTY OWNERS. This Resolution sets the protest hearing for Jan. 18, 1966, at 7:30 P. M. Councilman Dickason moved to adopt Resolutio: No. 65 -553, Councilman Merritt seconded, and the motion was unanimous ly carried. City Manager Koski presented Traffic Commission recommenda- tions as follows: a. Baldwin Ave. - Posting for Racetrack Traffic. Recommend posting between Daines Dr. and Lower Azusa Rd. on Baldwin Ave. between Dec. 28, 1965, and March 14, 1966, with "No ?arkin9" and "Tow -Away" signs to aid with the race track traffic. Mr. Koski read title to Resolu- tion #65 -552 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO POSY BALOW I N AVENUE BET':'IEEN DAINES DRIVE AND LOWER AZUSA ROAD BETIIEEN DECEMBER 28, 1965, AND MARCH 14, 1966, SATURDAYS AND HOLIDAYS WITH CERTAIN NO PARKING - TOW MAY SIGNS. Councilman Merritt moved to adopt Resolution No. 65-552 Councilman Dickason seconded, and the motion carried unanimously. b. Rosemead Blvd. - Restricted Parking on New Year's Eve. Recommend posting "No Parking - Tow Away" signs on Rosemead Blvd. from the southerly to northerly City limits to be effective from midnight December 31, 1965 through January 1, 1966 midnight. Councilman Merri moved to approve, Coundilman Dickason seconded and the motion carriec unanimously. c. Restricted parking for Rose Parade Floats. Councilman Merritt moved to have reserved parking for floats on the east side of Temple City Blvd. north to Olive from midnight to 5 A. M. Jan. 1, 1966, and also the area immediately north of the intersection of Alessandro an: Lower Azusa be restricted so floats may be moved out easily, Council, man Dickason seconded, and the motion carried unanimously. City Manager Koski presented warrants for approval as fol- lows: a, State Employees Retirement from City $439.86, and withheld from the employees $444.26, which are due Dec. 31, 1965. Councilman Di¢k._ son moved to approve, Councilman Merritt seconded, and the motion wa unanimously carried. b. Check to Arline Smith for $60. for park recurrent personnel to be paid from the fee collected for the class. Councilman Merritt moved to approve, Councilman Tyrell seconded, and the motion carried unani- mously. c. Mr. Koski recommended the Council authorize payment to Bates & Diehl of $500. due on Dec. 15, 1965, on their contract, and also reimbursement of $292. for petition circulation on Annexation #10. Councilman Merritt moved to approve, Councilman Dickason seconded, and the motion carried unanimously. d. The City Manager also requested authorization of a warrant in the sum of $151,99 to reimburse petty cash. Councilman Merritt moved to approve, Councilman Dickason seconded and the motion carried unanimci_ ly. 842 Council Minutes, December 21, 1965, page 2 Councilman Tyrell moved to adjourn, seconded and carried.
