AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE VIRGINIA
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO CONSTRUCT AN
ACCESS ROAD FOR THE SOCCER/LACROSSE FIELDS AT IDA
LEE PARK
WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg was awarded a grant in the mount of $98,500 in
August 1992 from the Commonwealth Transportation Board's Recreational Access Fund; and
WHEREAS, the town desires to use the grant funds to construct an access road to the
soccer/lacrosse fields at Ida lee Park; and
WHEREAS, an official agreement must be executed between the Town of Leesburg and
the Virginia Department of Transportation in order to receive the grant funding; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg and the Virginia Department of Transportation have
agreed upon terms and conditions necessary to execute an agreement; and
WHEREAS, the Administration and Public Works Committee of the Leesburg Town
Council recommended the execution of an agreement between the Town of Leesburg and the
Virginia Department of Transportation.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
The Town of Leesburg authorizes the Town Manager to execute an agreement between
the Town of Leesburg and the Virginia Department of Transportation to receive grant funds in
