A RESOLUTION: AWARDING A PURCHASE
MACHINE
PRESENTED June 22, 1999

CONTRACT FOR A CRACK SEALING
WHEREAS, two (2) sealed bids were received for a crack sealing machine; and
WHEREAS, the lowest bidder was Virginia Public Works Equipment Company of Richmond,
Virginia in the amount of $21,767.00; and
WHEREAS, Virginia Public Works Equipment Company's bid did not meet the town's
specifications for the equipment and therefore was declared not responsive to the bid documents; and
WHEREAS, the Town Attorney reviewed the bids and confirmed that the bid of Virginia Public
Works Equipment Company was not responsive to the bid document; and
WHEREAS, the second bid received from Chesapeake Supply of Savage, MD was responsive to
town specifications; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Engineering and Public Works recommends award of the
contract to the responsive and responsible bidder, Chesapeake Supply.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows:
The Acting Town Manager is authorized to execute a purchase contract for a crack sealing
machine with Chesapeake Supply in accordance with the bid documents and specifications at a price of
$28,407.00.
