AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF A CONTRIBUTION FROM
IRWIN W. URAN TO THE LOUDOUN COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF
SOCIAL SERVICES
WHEREAS, on October 30, 1998, a donation in the amount of $100,000 was received
from Irwin W. Uran for use in the juvenile detention system; and
WHEREAS, as directed by the Council, the Loudoun County Department of Social
Services was contacted regarding possible uses of these funds for their Juvenile Detention
Center; and
WHEREAS, a list of potential uses was submitted to the Deputy Town Attorney; and
WHEREAS, of the uses submitted, the Council desires to provide funding as follows to
the County of Loudoun's Juvenile Detention Center.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
SECTION I. Funding in the amount of $50,000 is authorized for the Computer Learning
Center.
SECTION II. Funding in the amount of $8,000 is authorized for Juvenile Detention
Center Today Magazine that is published by the Juvenile Detention Center detainees.
SECTION III. Funding in the amount of $5,000 is authorized for reading materials for
the Library.
