RESOLUTION NO. 99-219 ADOPTED July 27, 1999
A RESOLUTION: AWARDING A STREET MAINTENANCE CONTRACT FOR
MILLING AND RESURFACING TO VIRGINIA PAVING COMPANY
WHEREAS, on July 15, 1999, two sealed bids were received for the 1999 Milling and
Street Resurfacing Program; and
WHEREAS, the bids were evaluated in accordance with the town Purchasing Policy; and
WHEREAS, Virginia Paving Company is the lowest and responsive and responsible
bidder for this work; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends award of a contract for the 1999 Street Milling and
Resurfacing program to Virginia Paving Company.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as
follows:
SECTION I. The Town Manager is authorized to execute a unit price contract-with
Virginia Paving Company for street milling and resurfacing in accordance with the bid
documents and specifications, at the unit prices of $0.80 per vertical inch per square yard for
milling, $28.40 per ton for type SM-2A bituminous concrete overlay, $29.40 per ton for type
SM-2D bituminous concrete overlay, and $28.40 per ton for type BM-2 bituminous concrete
base paving for a total contract value not to exceed $287,134.

Streets to be resurfaced shall be in accordance with the approved FY00
